yep, I'm a huge lp fan. I used to hate them because everyone else at my school *adored* them(probably didn't even listen to the music, just did what everyone else did) but when everyone started liking something else I started listening to them. Yeah...I love Linkin Park!!! Um...yeah, they are a boy band...they are boys and they are in a band...so I guess you could say that, lol!! My fave song is My December and Pushing Me Away!!! I didn't like LP at first but they grew on me. The "boy band" thing? I read about the rumors. But the DJ (I forget his name, he's not even that good) is a legit DJ and was seen at Coachella onstage with DJ Z-Trip (who is a DJ hip-hop and real rock fans would dig). System rocks but Slipknot is just a bunch of guys in masks and they don't even rock. I'd take LP over Slipknot anyday. IP: Logged |

And by the way, the "boy band" story goes like this. Linkin' Park used to be a band called Xero (or something like) but they didn't have a lead singer, just Mike as a rapper. Their agent held auditions for a lead singer, not the whole band. That's how they found Chester. They changed their name to Hybrid Theory then to Linkin' Park. If you haven't heard go find their CD when the band was called Hybrid Theory. No Chester singing (it has like 7 songs). Crazy Town. Now that's a boy band. They piss me off because the guitarist pretends to play guitar on the video for "Butterfly" when it's really a REd Hot Chili Peppers sample. Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't call Linkin' Park metal or hard rock. Too many girls are into them (but I don't mind.) But they're still cool and they still rock. IP: Logged |

linkin park is what people like to call heavy metal and that makes me want to cry every time i hear that shit it feels like someone just kicked me right in the sack. You may get a feeling that they are heavy metal b/c they were at ozzfest but that just really is very sad because they dont even have solos and i feel that they just need a fucking boot up their asses and i feel that we should leave the honour to Pantera because as i see it they took pantera's place at ozzfest so if i see any of you little posers around i will curb stomp you and bash your knees in that is all IP: Logged |

ok enough of da boy band theory...no matter wut u say or wut u try to say it makes no difference...a rock band, if u wanna call em heavy metal or wuteva, if they get popular enough, they get played on pop stations...wut da heck's dat? same thing wit sum rap songs, they get played in pop and sumtimes rock stations...maybe it's just where i live...but usually if they play rap, they wanna play eminem or sumtin...so really, wut i'm tryin to say is dat da society turns a rock band into a boy band...say wut u want to me...i still believe dat it's da society dat's turnin da world into sumtin else IP: Logged |

i think people compare linkin park to nsync because they are both mtv puppet bands. you shouldn't have to REALLY listen to music to figure out if it is any good. if it is good it should jump out at you and strike you. at least that is my humble opinion. IP: Logged |

dat's true...think about it now...da more a rock star shows up on mtv..they get a bigger image and they become more famous..more people hear about bands and singers if they're on mtv...bcuz of dat, most bands become a puppet for mtv...but it's up to da band to decide if they will give in to it or not..linkin park mite be famous but they're still themselves..it's not juz mtv, radio stations do da same...if they know u'll get em money, they'll play u, whether or not they play da same genre as da band IP: Logged |

Alright, Here's my opinion on the whole thing, although I don't it will make a difference to anyone who might be reading this. Linkin Park is a group of people trying to make some music, that's basically it, and they successfully created their music and got it out to the public to hear. Now you have your own opinions on whether or not you like them and whether or not you don't. That's simply it. If you don't like linkin Park, why are you even in this message board to begin with? I find it very immature of people to go around insulting people just because of the bands they like. Now, I'm not saying that Linkin Park is one of the best bands of all time or anything, I'm merely stating that I do enjoy their music, and if you don't, you don't. So get over it IP: Logged |
